I’m Ben, the one-person studio behind Clever Rabbit. I design and build websites, online shops and brands for businesses in Smethwick and Bearwood, from just up the road in B68.
(Where I am)
Clever Rabbit sits on the Bearwood and Warley Woods side of B68. Bearwood is under a mile away, Warley Woods is on my doorstep, and Smethwick town centre is under two miles. Cape Hill, Galton Bridge and Smethwick High Street are all a few minutes’ drive.
So if you run a shop on Bearwood Road, a trade in Smethwick or a service business anywhere in between, you are not hiring an agency in another city that has never heard of your street. You are hiring the web designer down the road.
Bearwood sits right on the Birmingham border, with Harborne just over a mile from me, so plenty of my neighbours trade on both sides of it. A good website helps you reach both: customers who walk past every day, and the ones searching from further away who have never been in.
(Why local)
Bearwood Road and Smethwick High Street are full of independent shops, food places and services. A good website has to do three things for them: show what you sell, prove you are good at it and make it effortless to call, book or visit.
If you want to sell beyond the high street, I build WooCommerce shops with payments, delivery and stock set up properly. Pawtrait Society, a pet portrait studio, sells through a shop I designed and built from scratch.
Plenty of local firms still run on paperwork and spreadsheets. I turned Sheriff & Penny’s paper-based debt recovery into a system that writes letters, builds case files and tracks progress on its own. Builds start at £995, with ongoing care from £99 a month.
(What I build)
Up to five pages, designed for your business, fast on phones and ready for Google.
Larger sites with custom design, animation and features built around how you work.
WooCommerce stores with products, payments, delivery and stock set up properly.
A logo, colours and type that make you look like the business you are.
The repetitive admin handed to software, scoped after a free call.
Fast hosting, backups, updates and someone to call when something breaks.
Fixed quotes after a free chat. Not VAT registered, so the price you see is the price you pay.
(How it works)
A call, a coffee or a WhatsApp. You tell me what you need and I ask the questions that matter.
A clear price and timeline in writing before anything starts. No hourly surprises.
You see the design early, give feedback, and watch it come together. I keep you posted throughout.
I put it live, check it on every device and look after it afterwards, from £15 a month.
(Recent work)

Very. Clever Rabbit is in B68, under a mile from Bearwood and under two miles from Smethwick town centre, so I can get to you quickly if we need to meet.
When it helps, yes. Most projects run over calls, WhatsApp and email, but if you would rather sit down and talk it through in Smethwick or Bearwood, I will come to you.
Yes. A starter website from £1,995 covers up to five pages: what you do, prices, photos of your work, reviews and every way to contact or find you. If you take bookings or sell products, that can be built in too.
Online shops start at £4,995. That covers the shop design, products, payments, delivery options and testing. You get a fixed quote before anything starts, and I am not VAT registered, so nothing is added on top.
Yes, that is a great place to start. I can set up your branding, website, email and Google Business Profile so you are findable from day one.
I host and look after it from £15 a month, with backups and updates included. If something needs changing, you message me directly.
Yes. Your site is built with the details Google uses for local searches, and I can help you set up and fill in your Google Business Profile. Asking happy customers for Google reviews makes the biggest difference of all.
No. I handle the domain, hosting, email setup and the build itself. You tell me about your business, and I turn it into a website you can be proud of, then show you how to make simple changes if you want to.
(Let’s talk)
Tell me what you need. You’ll hear back from me, Ben, not a sales team. Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm.
